Welcome Everybody

My name is Ivory and I am here to tell you all how Whiskey River Ranch got started. I know you probably expected a goat but this is my family and know everything that goes on around here. So if you have a minute here we go.......

It all started when my human mom (Shelley) and Sharyle (from Tumbleweed Ranch) became good friends. Sharyle had Ewe Kids 4-H group as well as managing a flock of sheep and some goats. Heather (my human sister) wanted to get involved with 4-H and the sheep at our local fair. So when lambing and kidding season came around Heather bought 2 lambs from Sharyle and my mom fell in love with the goats. She then bought her first one from Sharyle a wether named UNO .  Another lady was in need of a home for a Nubian bottle baby wether and that is when we got Harley . And so my family began. Not long after Harley we got Marley , a pygmy/oberhalsley  bottle-baby and the two of them were very entertaining. We were all doing really good, I was happy and the family was happy and healthy as well. Then one sad morning we all awoke to find UNO had passed in the night. We never did know why but we knew we were going to miss him. So as time moved on it became late spring and my Mom noticed an additional critter in the pasture laying by my feet. That's right, I myself had just had a baby boy and gee was I proud. Everyone else was really excited too especially my mom since she didn't even know I was in the family way. But she too was very happy and between her and I we cleaned him up and named him Bandit .

Things went along really well for quite awhile, Heather showing her sheep at fair and being in the 4-H group, my mom and Sharyle were the Sheep Superintendents there as well. It was just this  past year that my mom decided to get into breeding Mini Nubians and nigerians, getting out of sheep all together. So with that we have added some new family members. We now have JD  , a very handsome Nubian buck,

CRYSTAL  a very nice Mini Nubian doe, and last but not least , a very sassy and cute Nigerian dwarf COOKIE . So my family is growing and soon we will have kids to watch over. My mom and Sharyle are the 4-H Goat Superintendents at the Ben Franklin Fair and are looking forward to their  journey into breeding, showing, learning and spoiling all of us. I will keep you all up to date on how this all goes. AS for me I am very happy here at home, my son Bandit has grown up and is charge of all the boys and I am still in charge of the girls and overall responsibility of Whiskey River Ranch. So there you have it we have expanded and added a some more goats, and we have been through our first kidding season and  have learned alot. Please enjoy the rest of our website and feel free to contact us anytime.

I almost forgot the others, they are Sierra and Sophie and Swat and Baxter

I would like to personally thank all the people and friends who have helped me get started in this thing we call "The Goat World", it has been a great learning experience and I appreciate you all. Special thanks to Andrea Green for all the time spent on teaching information and hands on experience.  Shelley Weber
